It's the armor 1080 ti that's bad, I don't think the 1060 was is bad so you're all ok :)

The cooler is shitty. The armor is desinged to be tested on air once and then watercoolled because the PCB is the same as Gaming so you get the same perfromance under water as a gaming card at a lower price.

Nowadays there are rarely shitty cards. More often it is just shitty coolers that run loud and or hot.

...It's still better than a blower fan card...and for a GTX 1060 it's enough cooling...that GPU is very energy efficient.

There's also the 1060 3gb to look for... 3gb VRAM is sometimes not enough, but the reduced price is tempting.

 

As for the cooler, it sucks when fitted to a hot chip like 1080ti, but not so much with a 1060 (since it has less than half the TDP)

Definitely get the 6GB one if you can afford it, the 3GB card also has fewer CUDA cores, so it performs 5-10% worse than the 6GB. ;)
