So currently i purchased a GTX 1050ti and would like to upgrade in the neer furture. What is better 2 1050ti's running together or just a 1080

a 1080 always get 1 powerful card over 2 weaker ones 

 

also you cant sli 1050 ti

  3. Even if you could SLI 1050 Tis, the 1080 would be much faster

Sell the 1050ti and get a 1080(ti).

Custom pinewood case, Corsair CX 600W, Rampage 3 Extreme, i7 980x (@4.2ghz) with ML240 Cooler,  MSI GTX 970, 24gb DDR3, 240gb OCZ Tr150 SSD + 2Tb Seagate Baracuda. 

 

Advocate for used/older hardware. Also one of the resident petrol heads.

a 1080 is approximately the same level of a 2 RX 480 in crossfire. A RX 480 is approximately the same level of a GTX 1060.

You can't run anything lower than 1070/1080/1080Ti/Titan X/Titan Xp in SLI

Instead of two 1050 Ti's, go with a single 1060 3GB. It has much better performance and better SLI scaling.

You can't SLI the 1060 either. Only the 1070 and up.

I agree with what you said, but the 1060 doesn't support SLI. If the OP wants to get 2 cards, he should get a used 970/980/980 TI or a 1070 ;)

Even if the 1050Ti SLI setup would scale 100% perfectly, the 1080 is still much faster.
