I Don't Know Why My PC Won't Work

Mardan0821

I just built my first PC and put together all the parts, but for some reason it is not working. I plugged in the power supply cord to the wall, and then switched on the button on the back of the PSU. After that, the motherboard's RGB lights turn on (in a rainbow spectre mode) and the GPU white power light is on, so these two seem to be fine since they're on, I hope. My problem is that the power button on my case aio is not working. I've tried pushing it on in different patterns to but it will not work. Is there any way to fix this, or did I just connect things wrong?

Also, when I turn on the PSU, the motherboard and GPU lights come on indicating that they're powered, however the CPU fan and case fans don't start spinning. I don't why this is. Do the fans start running when the case power button is on? Or is it something else?

Below is the part list, if you're wondering:

Motherboard: ASUS Prime x370-pro

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB DD4R-3600 32gb (4 sticks)

CPU: Ryzen 7 1700 (with wraith spire cooler)

GPU: ASUS ROG strix GTX1050 Ti

Storage: 850 Evo 500GB SAMSUNG SSD

PSU: Corsair RM 650x

Case Fan: Cooler Master Air Balance (x2)

Case: NZXT s340 Elite

Also when it's plugged into a monitor, the screen is all black. Is it supposed to be like this?

Ryzen doesn't have an iGPU, you need to plug the monitor into one port on the 1050Ti

Did you follow the manual for connecting the front panel connectors to the motherboard?

Edit:

Nothing will start spinning until you power on the case with the power button.

Make sure your front panel is connected properly to the motherboard.
If you can't figure it out by looking at the board, Check the motherboard manual, it should have a diagram of what goes where.

You can also start your pc up with a screwdriver. Just connect the 2 power button pins on your motherboard. (check manual to figure out which ones you need)

If the screen was plugged into the motherboard, the system should power on when he presses the power button. There just won't be anything on the display.

Huh?

Just because a screen is plugged into the motherboard doesn't mean the fans will spin. If nothing is turned on then nothing will spin.

Right sorry I should have been more clear.
What I mean to say is, If he presses the power button while the monitor is plugged into the motherboard, the system should still power up. but you'd get no picture on the monitor because no igpu.

Did you shift the cable from the motherboard down to the GPU input?

Seems Ryzen takes it's time for it's first post. If you are sure enough you connected everything, just wait a while.
