Please read the sub-forum guidelines before posting.

Tech News means news regarding technology or gaming. Please don't post topics in this forum that don't have a strong relation to technology/games.

Posting Guidelines:

When creating a thread in the News subforum, please make sure your post meets the following criteria:

  • Your thread must include some original input to tell the reader why it is relevant to them, and what your personal opinion on the topic is. This needs to be MORE than just a quick, single comment to meet the posting guidelines.
  • Your thread must include a link to at least one reputable source. Most of the time, this should be a respected news site.
  • Your thread should also include quotes from the cited source(s). While you shouldn't just copy the entire article, your quote should give the reader a summary of the article in a way that gives the key details, but also leaves room for them to read the full article on the linked website. Please use quote tags (the speech bubble at the top of the editor, under the  :)) to show that you have copied this content from another site.
  • The title of your thread must be relevant to the topic and should give a reader a good idea of the contents of the thread. Copying the title of the source is permitted but absolutely not required. It should be to the point and not be done in such a way as to mislead a reader, such as clickbait, etc.
  • If your article is about a product or some form of media, images are always appreciated, although they are not required.

Failure to comply may result in your thread being locked or removed without warning.

I'm afraid quad titans are no more, the new X's and XP's (or anything pascal) doesn't support SLI over 2 GPU's.

And for pure gaming purposes there still isn't much better choices than a 7700K.

But I suppose getting a 7700K for a compensator would be a waste.

Would be cool though!

Wrong place. Why would you think that video suggestions (which never get even considered BTW) would go in the Tech News and Reviews section?

Do a Compensator 3.0 that can do Deep Learning computations really quick and benchmark those.

A DeepLearning DevBox from Nvidia is somewhere between 5-15k and those are running pretty old hardware I must say. And many people other than just gamers (like me I do both) are interested in building a DL box that can also be upgraded in a few months to do better. Budget in this case is not necessarily tight.

4-Way SLi is still a thing. Works for benchmarks and the driver hack works for some games too. Maybe not with any of last years releases but mostly older DX11 games.

Scaling falls off a cliff after 3 cards though usually.

The highest end Intel chip (though it's yet to be released) is 18c, and the highest end AMD chip is 16c. Why 10c for a 'compensator'?

Sure, Nvidia's machines use old hardware, but only if you look at their old machines. Their current ones have quad Tesla V100s, a Xeon E5-2698v4, 64GB RAM, 6TB of triple-RAID0 (NVMe I assume) SSDs... Pretty hefty and modern.

Where's my 1TB of RAM?!

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.
