Question about Core i7-8700k

Hello guys this is Bob again.

So here is the deal.I haven't buy the barebone laptop with 7700k and now since 8th gen is about to release I think a pretty 8700k ITX machine would be a good choice for me to enjoy. The budget is 14000 RMB because I live in China.I want to use this machine to editing videos programming and record gaming videos.

Here is what I've chosen.

A Samsung SM961 512gib SSD

A Seagate ST2000DM006 HDD

2 Kingston HyperX 16G 3000mhz memory

and for GPU I want a GTX 1080 or 1080ti .I've got a Windows 10 Pro , a monitor and a keyboard\mouse kit so all the budget is for the computer itself.

Do you guys have some suggestions?

Coffee Lake for desktops is not as close as you think (they only unveiled the ultra-thin laptop versions of the chips). Also you mentioned that you will be doing video-editing, have not you considered a Ryzen 7?

the i7 8700k is coming out on October so nah it isn't that far, also every leak has shown it outperfoms the 8c/16t Ryzen line up, also outperforms Intel's current i7 7800x on their HEDT platform so OP is perfectly fine waiting for it should that be his interest.

Now a few worth mentions, I'd stay away from Kingston memory, prefer a Samsung B-die memory from Corsair or G.Skill better timings and more certain to reach 3200mhz fine, Asus motherboards are a most if you want high end.

The GTX 1080ti will be king for quite more time, since AMD still has literally no offering that can reach it nVidia has delayd Volta even further...

If you just want to record and edit gaming footage the i7 will be better but if you want to do live streaming than considering a R7 1700 might be worth.

I missed any reliable source stating that it's coming in October. Intel only said Coffee Lake for desktops is coming this "Fall".

I'm a gaming "youtuber" on that website and it seems that Ryzen's gaming performance is not as good as intel.

For another reason is that i have never been used a really i7 and i really want to have a try

It is hard to advise values to more exotic markets, it varies a lot... the i7 8700k will be no cheaper than Ryzen so if you're looking for saving you should change the thoughts a bit, maybe the locked i7 8700 on the cheapest motherboard you can find...

good pick WAIT! that is DDR3, you need DDR4, but Corsair Vengance LPX is indeed a good pick!
