Only firefox on linux

I have an issue with trying to install a new web browser like chrome or opera. every time that i click install in ubuntu software, it starts, and then the button resets. i need help, as this is my school computer and i need chrome bad. AND I CANT WATCH NETFLIX!!!!!! PLS SEND HELP!!!!!!

If it is a school computer, ask help from your school.

 

Changes are the computer is borked somehow, or perhaps they have removed the ability for students to install any software (that would make sense - or actually, not doing it would not make any sense, especially if these are shared computers, available for any student unattended!).

 

You can try to install from command line ("apt-get ...."). GUIs are unreliable and often give way too less information to figure out what is actually wrong. Also in this case - "The button resets" is way too ambiguous to give enough information what is going on (we need a screenshot to see what you are trying to do). Maybe the shortcut is just broken? That is easy to do for any student. You could try to start the software center from command line, to see what is going on (perhaps the binary is called "adept" in Ubuntu?).

FYI, you can watch Netflix in Firefox on Linux. Just go to Preferences->Content, enable DRM content.
