Whats the typical differences between the models in a series of a motherboard?

I was taking a look at the ASUS ROG Strix Z270s (because I hear the z370 will just be a rebrand of the z270) and I couldn't see much of a difference between stuff like the STRIX Z270E, Z270F, etc etc. What are the typical differences in a "series" like this? (I put series in quotes because I don't know if thats the right word)

They are in a series because they are the same model just with different features. The E has wi fi and bluetooth wheras the F does not. It's like how there are multiple types of Honda Civic's at different price points

Did.. you read what I said? The Z370s are being considered a "rebrand" of the Z270s. A current list of leaked motherboards for z370 can be found here: https://videocardz.com/newz/upcoming-asus-z370-motherboards

Thank you. Any suggestions on how to best find and evaluate these differences besides comparing them on newegg?

"Rebrand" means they bear different name, but have the same function. Z370 support coffee but Z270 doesn't, so it is not a rebrand.

Did you read what @Jurrunio said? Z370 motherboards work with 8th gen Intel Core CPUs, Z270 do not.

I guess the key, as often, is the highly impersonal "are being considered". Impersonal sentences often obscure reliability of sources, responsibility, and many other things depending on the context, by lacking a subject...

I did read what he said. Z370 is thought, or believed, to be little to no different then a Z270, with little to no new features, but simply be required for 8th Gen Intel. The Z370 is believed to basically be a Z270 with a number change and 8th gen support. I know not to buy a Z270 for my future 8700k. However, I can still look at Z270 versions of Z370 confirmed mobos on that list and decide which one I'll want. All I will have to do when it actually comes out is double check and compare the old to the new.

Oh, I misunderstood that, I though you were getting the Z270 ;)

I still don't know who is this doing all this thinking and believing, though :P

It sounds like double the work to me, but whatever works.
