Replacement for Nexus 6P

I've been using Google's Nexus phones since the 4, but with the price of the Pixel line supposedly getting higher with the next gen I've decided to start looking for a replacement.

 

Are there any good Android phones that don't come with bloatware or a proprietary OS? Looking for a nice, clean setup.

I'd suggest the OnePlus 5. It's the closest thing to stock android, other than a Nexus/Pixel device.

That too, especially considering who designed the Essential. I only suggested the OP5 because, let's be real, even though it's a startup it'll have better support. Not saying the Essential will have awful support but you're gonna see way less people with an Essential than an OP

The Essential will have flagshp pricing though so I'd expect at LEAST $600+

If you don't plan to root your phone in the future I would go with the Esential(although it's a little bit expensive) if yoi have used custom ROMs before and have experience in this, go with the OP5 (support will stop in 1-2 year just like they did with OPO, OP2 and OPX)

Might go with the OP 5 then.

 

$~600 is my limit, hence why the Pixel is breaking my heart.

When the Pixel 2 is announced Google should hopefully lower the price for the Pixel and XL. I would wait a bit if you're interested in it.

 

Otherwise, the OnePlus 5 (or even 3T, really was an excellent phone) as mentioned is the best close-to-stock phone you can get with a headphone jack. Motorola hasn't really deviated much software wise from the time it was owned by Google, so if you don't need a headphone jack the Moto Z lineup could be of interest. You'll get better support from Motorola than you would from OnePlus, too.

To be honest I feel like the Essential phone is overhyped by much of the tech community. If you're going to spend $700 USD on a phone, spend a bit more and just grab the Pixel XL then (or spend less for the base model Pixel).

oh damn wtf 

it should've been around OP3 pricing because it doesn't have any special features... I'd rather have a Pixel 2 or the S8 for similar money.

Yeah I don't see very many people buying it. If Andy Rubin wasn't behind it I feel like people would be more critical towards it lol
