Yer, it saddens me that creative have ended up with products like this.  I really used to love their products.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

Was it that recent? Oh well. They're nearly irreverent know.

10 years ago onboard was average at best,

 

They wouldn't be if they concentrated on decent audio gear like headphone amps.

They'd actually be able to put FiiO out of business if they tried. Would love to see that.

all they really need to do is drop their output impedance to <4ohms and make sure the inbuilt in mic works and BAM you got something I'd buy and recommend.

Nwavguy experimented with changing the OP amp and a few other components in a Behringer UCA 202 with moderate success. It's amazing how easy it would be to make all these so-so products good with only minor part swaps.

But why do that when the company should just ship it in the best possible form.

That's what I'm saying - manufacturers should swap a few parts. It's too hard to do it at home.

I read that, shame I can't do surface mount stuff at home.
