PCI-e x16 2.0 or PCI-e x8 3.0 is already big bottleneck in some game(s)

Here is a result from rFactor 2. It is a racing sim game.

PCI-e 2.0 is pretty huge bottleneck for something like 980Ti or above at least. People have already talked a while in that game how it requires huge amount of PCI-e bandwith. Many racing game people play with triple monitors and likely even SLI that usually is then PCI-e x8.

Can anyone mention other games where it actually matters this much? Notice that's only 1080p with AA.

That game is probably a rare exception.  Games that use a lot of bandwidth are probably poorly optimized (computing a lot of things in the bg it doesn't need to), especially since it's not even maxing out on the 6gb of vRAM.  Either that or it's a bad benchmark.
