I have been thinking about getting one or the other, but can't decide for myself.

follow my three steps:
 
which one gives best specs vs price and shipping (if applicable)?

does one have a (useful) feature you like that the other one doesn't have? (rgb lighting, better monitor, better warranty etc)

which one do you think looks cooler?

you should get 2/3 on one laptop unless you cheat :P

ultimately it's YOU who is going to live with it.. no use buying a computer we tell you to buy if you liked the other one better..

Have you tried to perform a sudden temporary interrupt of the electricity flow to your computational device followed by a re-initialization procedure of the central processing unit and associated components?

I would say alienware 13 just because I have one and I love it but get which ever one has the best specs for the lowest price

Probably alienware as the build quality is amazing. The only issues are the keyboard back light has less customisation as the razer one and I am pretty sure the razer one can get a 1070 where as the alienware 13 can only have a 1060.

I have to agree with you there, the Alienware 13 is pretty heavy especially when carrying it with the charger in a big laptop bag.

Avoid Razer like it has the plague (the 13 R3 is great though).
