My father and my uncle need new laptops for work. They will only be using them for e-mail, Microsoft Office, and maybe a couple architecture programs like this one https://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/sysreq.html

Budget is Low, in the 200ish range, no more than 300 preferable.

I was looking at

Any Suggestions?

all options you have provided would not work well with Chief Architect as the laptops do not have dedicated graphics card.

"Most rendering is performed by the video card. A video card with more than 2 GB of dedicated onboard memory can improve your 3D rendering and response times"

But it does say 512MB minimum, even a 1GB Vram gpu would work

EDIT: "Supported Video Cards include 1) Dedicated Video Card such as NVIDIA / AMD or 2) Intel Integrated Graphics 4th Generation or newer. "

My uncle doesn't know how to use a computer very well, he talks about getting into using a program like that, but he struggles to use a mouse. Hes Old school doing everything out by hand on paper. The chance of ever using the programs is low, i will have to call him and make sure if he will be using it or not.

T420 is a pretty solid laptop (except battery life). I have one with the 2520M, it's fine for daily tasks and even light gaming like TF2.

None, I would look on ebay for an old i3 3rd gen socketed (this is important ask if it's not clear) laptop £100-£120, and an i7 quad core £60-£80 off ebay again then remove the i3 from it, and put the i7 in, much better performance than them (possibly up to double in some applications) and will be better suited for their needs, add more RAM into the systems as well if you wanna (I can get 16Gb  for £80 -£100) and possibly a bigger HDD (if it's smaller than 500GB that is, if 500GB you should be fine, but if smaller go for a 1TB one £40)

that would give an

i7 quad core 4 or 8GB of RAM laptop for £200 (4 more likely)

i7 quad core 16GB RAM laptop for £280-£300

i7 quad core 16GB RAM 1TB HDD laptop for £320-340]

WHEN BUYING THE LAPTOP MAKE SURE THERE IS A VERSION OF IT USING THE CPU YOU INTEND TO USE DO NOT BUY IF IT DOES NOT,

FOR EXAMPLE

there is a model of an fujitsu A352 which uses i7 3612QM but not i7 -3940XM despite both using the same socket so the 3940XM is unlikely to work in the A352

The owner of "too many" computers, called

Bread and Butter Pudding (i7 7700HQ, 1050ti, 16GB)

Pinoutbutter Sandwhich (raspberry pi 3 B)

The Portable Slice of Bread (N270, HAHAHA, 2GB)

Muffinator (C2D E6600, Geforce 8400, 6GB, 8X2TB HDD)

Toastbuster (WIP, should be cool)

loaf and let dough (A printer that doesn't print black ink)

The Cheese Toastie (C2D (of some sort), GTX 760, 3GB, win XP gaming machine)

The Toaster (C2D, intel HD, 4GB, 2X1TB NAS)

Matter of Loaf and death (some old shitty AMD laptop)

windybread (4X E5470, intel HD, 32GB ECC) (use coming soon, maybe)

And more, several more

If i were you these would be my demands for a pc like that:

i5 with decent inegrated gpu

4gb of ram

32+ Ssd capacity

Little bloatware (for easy use)

Maybe you could just buy a cheap galaxy tab?

I found this, but if you do some more digging maybe you could buy a good used laptop
