GTX 1060 3GB SC. Can it run games?

Yehomilk

Hello :D

I recently bought a GTX 1060 3GB SC from EVGA, but i'm a little worried about the VRAM it has, will 3 GB be enough for games like Skyrim, Fallout 4, etc. on ultra or max settings?

Y ou will be able to run the games, just not on maxed settings as you will be limited by the VRAM as you fear.

Maybe on ultra settings with Anti Aliasing reduced. That can chew up all your VRAM.

You should still be able to run most games at max settings. You'll know when the VRAM is maxed because you'll get big lag spikes (see my video here). The main settings to turn down are the anti-aliasing and textures, they both eat up heaps of VRAM.

Will probably be enough. Bethesda games are not very Vram heavy.

You might probably even runs ome Mods on it.

But it's limited.

Still: There are tons of games, that can break 4 gb Vram EASY in 1080p.

So why buy a 3gb Vram-cripple? Buy a 6gb model.
