Hold on, what are these rankings based on?  I assume benchmarks of some kind, but every test will place different products differently, so you should make sure it's clear what grounds they're being ranked on.

pls dont get a FX chip now that Ryzen is out UNLESS you already have a socket for an FX chip.

Do they have to be stock? Because too lazy to revert OC then dial it back in.

Right now these rankings aren't based on benchmarks. They're based off of relative performance.

 

Hopefully when I get data on performance, I can use that to determine relative performance more reliably.

uhh... and where are you getting your relative performance figures?  That would have to be based on something, benchmarks I assume...

I get mine from common sense. A simlar IPC same core count same clock will perform similarly, right?

I fixed the ranking.

 

Some of it is old news, we know that 2 AMD Bulldozer Cores can perform similarly to 1 Intel Core .

Some of it is Common sense and the rest is benchmarks by reviewers in gaming, synthetics etc.

 

What I'm trying to do is amass a database of benchmark results for different CPUs and eventually more accurately and more confidently show the relative performance.

Ah, I see, sort of a "puzzle of known relationships" method  alright I guess that should work assuming you spot check a few here and there to make sure they're indeed scoring where you'd expect
