Hehe are you making me guess the CPU model based on a picture? This is more than "tech noob" level.

It seemed to be a Phenom 2 X4 955. This is barely enough,

That's a Phenom II 955. It's 'decent' for the games you mentioned, but no more than that.

Do you have this CPU or are you planning to buy it?

It seemed to be a Phenom 2 X4 955. Nope, this is not enough for PUBG. The publisher asked for a FX 6300 for the game, which is a bit faster than this

Yeah seems to be the x4... With a 750ti or up it should play games decently at 720P medium/1080p low.

The same board that this cpu is using? i honestly dont remember what chipset this is... its am3 but for <100 i don't know if you will get much better. no point in wasting your money on this platform either.

I see. Then you'd probably be looking at a CPU+mobo upgrade as the AM3+ platform doesn't have much more performance to offer then what you have now.

What GPU do you have? You may see a bigger performance bump in games from upgrading the GPU.

You can play games with a lot better performance then what you're getting now :|

It won't be a supercomputer but with your limited budget, this is probably the best upgrade you could do, if you have some money left after that, try to get to 8GB RAM. Then you'll be good for a while for 1080p gaming on low-medium and some less demanding games even high settings.
