144hz monitor overclocking

InsanityWolf

Hey,I will build a gaming/recording pc for myself in a week and will most likely jump to 144hz.I wanted to ask if any of you have a 144hz monitor, if you have overclocked it,and if so,what number were you able to achieve?I will most likely be getting the Asus VG248QE,so if you have that monitor,it would be even better. Also,do you think that 144hz monitors are worth it when you can constantly pump 150+ frames per second? Please leave your opinion down below and thanks in advance.

Wasn't able to achieve any overclock on one of those monitors... but honestly an increase of 10 to 20hz from 144 won't actually be noticeable. You start getting some serious diminishing returns after about 100hz.

I assure you that 144hz is completely worth it though. :)

Corsair 900D | MSI MPower Max Z87 AC | i7-4790K @ 4.7Ghz | 1080 Ti SLI | 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400
XSPC Raystorm | EK-FC Nickel GPU block/backplate | 2x Alphacool UT60 480mm & XT45 240mm | 11x Linus Edition NF-F12
Schiit Modi/Magni 2 Uber | 5" KRK Rokit G3 | KRK 10S2 | Acer Predator X34 | Dell S2716DG

not 144hz but 4k!

ive overclocked my 4k monitor from 60hz to 64hz, i dont think i can go higher because of displayport limits wikipedia says 1.2a can do 4k 75hz lol

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Why overclock an already 144hz display though? You will most likely not notice it. Anyway you can probably get a few HZ more out of it

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

Seeing all of these 165Hz G-Sync monitors makes me tilt, and there is a noticable difference from 120hz to 144hz,so I thought I could maybe get it to 165Hz.Will see.

Above 100hz I can't say, I have used 144hz displays and they are really nice compared to the 60-73hz I'm used to but above 100hz overclocking won't make much of a noticeable difference I would think
