What's going on with these Ebay GTX listings?!

Was surfing ebay for some GTX 1080s as the prices have started to come down on graphics cards this week, but I'm seeing a bunch of listings for around $50-$60 USD!? Can anyone tell me what's going on? Different sellers, all claiming that they're new but some only accepting Paypal payments? What am I missing here? Did a truck of GTXs recently go missing? Some of these sellers have good ratings and several reviews, they seem legit!?

The scambots have started ramping up pretty hard it seems.

Stolen ebay accounts and paypal accounts.

Basically once you pay it goes to paypal and they immediately transfer the money out of it.

Normal ebay tactics. Start the price really low to get interest and let people bid it up. Sometimes there are reserve prices that have to be met as well.

The ones with only 36 transactions are sketchy though.

They are "Buy It Now" at that price.

If it was an auction, sure, but direct sales for $75 and below on a 1080 is a scam :)

You will only get an empty box.

Hey now, some scammers are not that rude. They'll usually toss in some rocks and if you're lucky a GT 210 or something :D

What about the people who actually buy them? I assume Ebay will help them?
