FedEx is god awful

i work for UPS, shit happens in the shipping business around this time of year. If a single person cuts a corner in the chain, your package can be mis-sorted and sent to the wrong building. Also sometimes those transit times can be misleading. It's hard to tell if a package is progressing as planned or not.

 

example:

9PM tuesday- Sender informs shipper of the package (info sent)

10AM wednesday- package pickup (package received)

4PM wednesday- package car arrives at distribution building

6PM wednesday- night shift starts

7PM wednesday- package is unloaded and scanned (arrived at building)

10PM wednesday- package is loaded into next destination's trailer (depart building, even though it's just sitting)

midnight thursday- trailer actually departs now

6AM thursday- trailer arrives and next distribution building

11AM thursday- day shift starts

noon thursday- package is unloaded and scanned (arrived at building)

2PM thursday- package is loaded into next destination's trailer (depart building, even though it didn't)

3PM thursday- trailer actually departs now

9PM thursday- trailer arrives at next building

***oh shit*** night shift was really busy, couldn't get to this trailer, leaving it for the next shift

3AM friday- early morning shift finally unloads and scan (arrive at building)

6AM friday- processed for delivery

***oh shit*** delivery truck is already out, need to wait for next wave. could be afternoon or next day!

5AM saturday- loaded into delivery truck, looks like you didn't pay for weekend delivery. looks like its gonna sit!

6AM monday- truck heads out (out for delivery)

 

you would expect ordering something on a tuesday night with ground shipping it should arrive by friday, but there are too many variables....

 

 

 

 

 

not to brag but UPS statistically does a better job on quality and service time. we cost more but that's sometimes worth it. FedEx to my knowledge isn't built to handle huge spikes in package volume.

I don't have a problem with this because I live in a good neighborhood, and UPS or USPS are much faster compared to Fedex. I check up on my product tracking every 2 hours or so, so i know exactly when my shipments come.

People with jobs don't have the luxury of gluing themselves to a tracking page.

spends 7 hours going to a fedex facility in the same town, then spent 10 hours in one fedex facility doing nothing, then goes to the state above me. what the serious fuck ._________. it was shipped from the state next to me, it shouldnt take more than 2 days .____.

I didn't know FedEx was around, it's almost as bad as the USPS.

 

UPS is the only delivery service I've used (other then proprietary deliveries by companies.)
