How to reformat windows to anniversary update NOT creators?

I want to do a full reformat of windows because I'm encountering a lot of problems in games but last time I tried this I ended up getting the super buggy Creators Update for windows (seems like it updates automatically), How do i format properly to a build that I want? 

I would like Windows 10 Anniversary Update 1607 Build 14393

The easiest way is to get your hands on an ISO or a install media. The usually "illegal" methods are actually fine, as long as the product key genuinely belongs to you. So my advice would be to download one of those... some how... or visit your local computer store, they will have loads of 1607 installs laying around that they won't use any more. I know my store does...

Yes I have the ISO already the problem is last time I tried a format I ended up receiving the newest windows update which is full of bugs (creators) and I don't want that verison.

 

I dont recall having an option in what windows version to end with

Ah I see. Right after install it will ask you if you'd like to update and that it will use approximately 4GB of data, skip this, then proceed to disable auto updates. This is what gets most people.

AH okay so there is an option, thanks I must of missed it.

Yep, after skipping, go into the windows settings and under system updates and security, click advanced and then enable pause updates. The system won't update until either you disable this, or after 35 days, hopefully by then the updates will be fixed, or you can just pause them again.
