Nvidia + AMD

I was wondering if I could use my GT 440 for CUDA when I render my videos (using Premier Pro 2017) and play games using my 7950. 

 

Would it work?

Short answer yes*.

 

*But your still tijde to the CPU. Your gpu may take some of the workload off. I see you have a I5 so 4c/4t. Its gone be chappe like all hell.

Main problem would be installing drivers for them. While AMD might not have an issue working alongside an nVidia card, the nVidia drivers will refuse to work with the AMD ones.

yes it will work. If it doesnt, attach a monitor to both cards. Infact my desktop has all 3 GPUs, intel AMD and nvidia. I use them all for openCL and games.

I don't render big resolutions. I only render 720p 60fps. If I have to then I'd go and render 1080p.

depends how you do it, yes it is possible to do it on one PC without setting up a VM etc. but if you can set up a VM, (get a R5 or R7 if you can) and use VM them into two PCs for your work load as that will work alot better than one system, if however you are stuck with the i5 people are saying you have then it won't be as clean as the VM but is still possible, I believe linus has an old video where he did it, sorta, the only difference he did it with both crossfire and SLI

Yes, but it might give you random problem because of drivers being both installed and running. I had a GT730 with a RX580 installed on the same platform, and the result were fine. But I had to manually specify which card had to run which software most of the times, and it happened that the drivers tried to "access" the wrong hardware causing problems (from crashes to BSOD). SO, not really recommended.

It's a much more stable idea but if you really need both you can do it, just expect some issues (maybe I was just unlucky but still something will happen)

I'd say if you already have the video cards, just go for it. Give it a try and see what happens.
