So you will need a raid card flashed to it mode, then run unraid or a similar OS. SSDs for cache hdd in raid 5 should get about 38TB in raid 6 32TB. Also went light on cpu horses you may want more.

Whole?

As others have said above:

Parts you want to use?

How much storage do you need?

Rackmount of tower PC?

old or new Hard drives?

How many users?

What will you be storing?

How much future expansion do you want to have (if any)?

How easy do you want it to be to use?

Have a preference for an OS?

I don't know want parts I need and that's why I'm asking, I need a lot of storage, I want a rack mount, I'll have new hard drives, my users will be at least 10 people, I'll be storing 4K videos and edits and maybe some other stuff ;), I won't have any future expansion because I want a lot of storage right away, I need it to be easy for editors, as for the OS idc

ps price doesn't matter

At least over 12tb because I'll be using it a lot and my employees will use it lot to plus I don't want to upgrade in a long time

This: https://www.amazon.com/Synology-16bay-Station-RS4017xs-Diskless/dp/B01N12N1NN

Plus as many of these as you can afford: https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-IronWolf-7200RPM-3-5-Inch-ST10000NE0004/dp/B01M4FU8Y3

The Synology Disk Station has 2 x 10Gbit NICs, and can be expanded up to 6 x 10Gbit - and add on enclosures can be chained in to provide more disk space.

If its for mission critical data, why wouldnt you go for an OOB solution which is supported by the vendor?
