LG G6 or wait for Google Pixel 2?

Final conclusion seems to be to wait for the GP 2 and other next-generation phones unless a good deal for the S8 is encountered?

Yeah pretty much.

In the market for a new phone right now, as my iPhone 5S is starting to show some wear. My top considerations over the past few months have been the S8 (pretty much out of my price range), the OnePlus 5, the LG G6, or the Google Pixel 2. I'm a fan of the S8 and LG G6 because of their displays - there's nothing like those tiny bezels. The OnePlus 5 was a highly anticipated phone for me because of the company's history of producing phones with a good value. I'm having trouble deciding based on several factors, what do you guys think?

I was hyped for the OP5 because of the company's history of producing phones with a good value, but the design of the phone is somewhat killing me in the sense that it looks so similar to an iPhone and has some pretty thick bezels. The LG G6 has as fairly nice design in my opinion, and because of its price drop ($455 on Amazon) seems to be a fairly good value as well. The issue with the G6 is its hardware. It's running off of a Snapdragon 821 rather than an 835, so it won't be quite as "future proof" or as efficient when it comes to power consumption. The Google Pixel 2 has had some good rumors floating around recently, with a revamp of the design of the phone and some of the more typical flagship features such as waterproofing. The S8 is just out of my price range, I can't justify spending that much on a phone, so I'm not even sure as to why I'm including it in this list. What do you guys think? I haven't done much exploring of mid-range phones, and I don't really use my phone for anything but simple productivity tasks and social media, so if there's a more viable option, please feel free to let me know.

pixel 2 or get the s8 if you can deal with Samsung software, One plus has quality issues, LG  Mobile has quality issues.

About to start a new thread:

Isn't Google working with Qualcom to fix the issue of support for only to 2 years? To my understanding, its because Qualcom only supports their SoCs for two years, making it much more work if Google were to roll out updates to every type of SoC over the years.

BTW, wanna send me that 5S? I've got a Lifeproof case, and it'd make a great iPod. It's also one of my favorite designs Apple ever made.

Then Google should stop supporting Qualcomm because that is shit buisness to the max. Its unsafe and a giant F you to consumers.

Cant do that when qualcomm has a fucking monopoly on SoC's

Exynos or Custom Arm chips are too limited to even go against qualcomm Right now.

If google can supply their own ARM chips for the next pixel or Nexus or whatever they will call future devices, then maybe.

Google could make their own SoC's like Apple.

Without Jailbreaking, there isn't really a good way to truly speed up the phone. Android offers the ability to speed up animations, so I'm liking that.

-sigh- I suppose Androids have gotten better, but I still don't trust them as much as an iPhone. My brother loves his Galaxy S-whatever Actives, and they're nice and fast. But even though they're supposed to be tough, he's always breaking them. The latest one broke from a cup landing on it (the does do construction and farm stuff for work though). Contrast that with my iPhone 6 Plus, which I've kept in an otter box till I couldn't stand it (over a year ago), then in a slim case till that broke (dropped in a -clean!- toilet, dropped on tile floors, etc), and now in a DBrand skin (dropped and dented on cement, slightly twisted a corner, dropped in a wet sink, dropped a ton more times, bounced around in my car, etc). It's still alive and kicking, and I'm half hoping it'll die so I can justify getting a 7 or 7 Plus.

Because you dont need to. Overclocking smartphone SoCs isn't really a thing and you can disable animations if you are that impatient lol.
