My home PC Mining Rig

What is up my tech enthusiasts!

After a long time of not posting, i return with something relatively juicy.

With the current craze of ethereum mining and people getting their hands on as many AMD gpu's as possible, i've chosen to take another route and mine with some Nvidia cards! #goteamgreen (I'm just trolling here i love amd's stuff as much as nvidia's).

I know many of gamers are pretty mad at miners because of how both AMD and Nvidia have raised pricing on what are meant to be affordable cards due to demand (rx 570,580s, 1060, 1070s etc) So I thought to go all in and pick up a couple more 1080ti's with the intention to mine ZCASH! (An underrated cryptocurrency imo)

I have not gotten my hands on a mining frame to properly separate the cards and give them adequate breathing room but for now have just installed them all in my H440.

I currently get a max of 2300 sol/s with light overclocks on the air cooled cards and a heavy clock on the hybrid cooled one.

This equates to about 0.07-0.1 Zcash a day. It's working out to be pretty profitable at the moment and have amounted one coin so far!

TL;DR : Bunch of 1080ti's packed in a h440 mining zcash in my garage

Hmmm. Looks good, but it'd look even better if you just ran two cards, and sent me the third for some long term testing.

Haha, I'm sure it's not going to be so profitable to mine in the future, so who knows! Maybe wait and see ;)

I hope you have been mining for a while now and this is not a new rig. As the currency has majorly crashed

Late to the game, yes. I did have the rig set up a couple weeks ago prior to the crash. But i still believe in a brighter future with cryptocurrencies in general.

Even if it isn't profitable, you should be able to make a beast (or two) of a gaming rig with a bunch of 1080 Tis.

Exactly! I have an SFF system using a node 202 case so i can just end up hybrid cooling the second card in the H440 and throw the third one in the Node!

The cure to cancer does exist. But do you really think that they'll just openly offer it to any and everybody?

the cure for cancer will never be released, a cure for cancer means no steady income from cancer patients and no donations for "research".

they would lose a fuck ton of income if they told eveyone they had a cure. instead they just slow the progressing so you can live longer but you will be paying $3000 a chemo treatment needing 8 treatments, and then after that finding out you need more and more just to live, money is a sad thing.

even if they made the cure cost a lot of money, over time its less $$$.

Yup! Once I get my Ryzen upgrade, I'm going to give my current PC to my cousin. Otherwise, I'll end up with a massive pile of tech lying around, with no way to use it all. And it's always awesome to help someone out (unless they break the computer once a week and call asking you to fix it).

Yeah, I'm going for Ryzen since it's the best bang for the buck right now. I'm hopefully going to be able to get a 1440p monitor too. And Battlefront 2 when it comes out.
