Greetings,
I was planning to buy in July a high end gaming rig, until I noticed a surprising inflation in gpus. As long as the prices remain that high, I won't be buying any, so I was planning to build a woefully cheap rig solely for e sports gaming purposes. The build will be consisted of an Intel pentium G4560 and a nVidia GT 1030. I would like you to recommend a cheap and good PSU to handle this rig.

I highly recommend buying used though. Anyways, for non modular, use S12II, otherwise EVGA b3

Intel plans to reduce production a lot on those G4560 , because they're eating away their profits (people aren't buying i3 processors)

So you may have problems finding it in the next weeks or prices may go up. I see it already at $80 on Amazon.

Even so that g4560 is still just a dual core cpu...

AMD is due to launch their Ryzen 3 processors soon - i expect towards the end of this month or next month. They'll be close to 100$ and even if they're more expensive than Intel, you may save some money on the motherboard (get a cheap a320 based mb, or b350 for overclocking)

That Ryzen 3 1100 could be a great deal for you, and with a mb that supports oc, it could potentially reach R3 1200x frequencies.

By the end of next month prices will also go down enough to buy a better video card, gtx 1030 is really not worth buying

as for pu, you already got good advices.

As much as I would like to buy a used gpu, as an underage I can't find a legal way to acquire one. As for this rig, it won't be my main gaming pc, I just want to use it until the price of the gtx 1080 drops back to normal.

Oh alternatively if you don't think you're gonna upgrade your cpu soon, you could still build a system with a cpu like AMD A10-7860k :https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113404

Has the same raw performance as that G4560, has integrated graphics good enough to play some stuff until you can afford a better dedicated graphics card

I'd stll say wait for ryzen 3 though.

A card like GTX 1080 will be somewhat held back by a cpu like that g4560..

Random question: Why do some PSUs say Haswell ready?

Haswell cpus were among the first to achieve really low power consumption in stand by, and some power supplies simply weren't designed to power processors using less than a few watts.. so some systems used to reset or turn off when the processor went into such "deep sleep" modes.

The "haswell ready" thing just says the psu is a modern design that can handle such very low power stand by modes.

Even if the power supply is older or not as good, those very low power stand by modes can usually be disabled from bios, so your pc will work perfectly, just may use a couple more watts during stand-by.

Well, by the time the gtx 1080's price drops, I will be buying a ryzen 7 and gtx 1080 combo. This rig will be used mostly for league of legends, so I'm fine with it. The thing is that the gtx 1080's price in my country from 480€ went to 660€ (probably because of mining).

PS. G4560 costs 60 euros here.

As soon as the gtx 1080's price drops I will buy a Ryzen 7 and sell this cheap rig.

I am aware of that, however, the 750ti in my country is 80€ more expensive, so I don't think I will purchase it.
