I didn't even know it made a difference. I've just been using the default drivers

You do not use any drivers for storage.

If windows is slow it's probably because you didn't clean install it.

You should not need to install any drivers, when you install windows it installs of them for you.

You do not flash BIOS unless there is a hardware incompatibility.

Windows should install all other necessary drivers when you clean install it onto the SSD.
