Help windows 8.1 killed my frame rate

aselwyn1

I have a Msi gt60 gaming laptop with a gtx770m. When I upgraded to windows 8 I can barely play games.

Example minecraft would run great (120avg) max settings (render distance and all) even with now in 8.1 I can barely get 20fps and changing the settings does nothing

This is the same with every other game in my that I own from cod to simcity

Stupid responses above, Windows 8 is by far the best OS out right now.

Have you tried updating your GPU drivers?

Windows is very likely not to blame (unless the install didn't work correctly, which is VERY unlikely). Check your GPU drivers.

Desktop: Intel Core i7-5820K, Corsair H115i, Asus X99-Deluxe/USB 3.1, G.Skill Ripjaws4 32GB 2800MHz CL16, Zotac RTX 3070, Samsung 950 Pro 512GB in Angelbird Wings PX1, Samsung 850 EVO 1TB, 5*Seagate 12TB, Cooler Master V1200, Phanteks Enthoo Luxe, Windows 10 Pro. Phillips 328P6VUBREB, Corsair Vengeance K95 RGB Cherry MX Brown, Logitech G502 X Plus, Sennheiser HD700.

AYANEO 2S: AMD 7800U, 32GB 7500MHz, 2TB WD SN850X. Windows 11.

I have the same issue here. 2x 7950's and BF4 runs at 25 FPS or less regardless of setting.

What you MEANT to say is it runs very well, technically. Personally I couldn't stand the user experience for more than a week before I switched back.

I'm not exactly the only one that prefers Win7 for "best OS"

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

Have you tried using one card only?

They said that BF4 has problems with multiple GPU's

well put, I use Start8 :P.... but with the 8.2 update the start menu will be back so then it will be the best performer by far.
