Hey guys, I've been studying economic computer science for about 2 months now and I'm not sure if I really want to continue. I really love working with computers, but mostly I enjoy the hardware aspect (I'm not that good at programming).

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else would be a viable alternative to what I'm currently studying?

Computer Network Engineering is a great program. Usually get to know about networks. Also, Computer Information Technology is also a choice.

here in Belgium you can choose between programming, hardware and networking(security). those are the main choises.

Doesn't your country offer a hardware education?

Grammar nazis are people too!
Treat your local grammar nazi nicely and he might teach you a thing or two. (Note that I'm Belgian and not a native English speaker.)

May I suggest you look through a list of careers you'd like to have after you complete studies and see what the common denominator is regarding qualifications.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

My borther's doing a sort of blend between programming and networking right now, although they are meant to specialise later.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

Do you like, and are good at, math and physics? If yes then you can always pick electrical engineering, but you won't be really working with actual computer hardware unless you manage to get a job in the industry. If what you really want is computer hardware then there's really nothing for you to study as there's no pc building job that requires a proper degree.

wouldn't electrical engineers oversee large scale server's?

a science degree would be more along the lines of research and development

Its all about those volumetric clouds

Electrical engineering is about development, you build the actual hardware. I have no idea what a science degree is though, to me it sounds like some bs degree like art history or african studies.

Which school/city?

Hasselt, PHL (I think that's got a new name now, merged with XIOS or something) I THINK the name of the course is applied informatics (Toegepaste Informatica)

As I understand it he's getting basic programming and PC hardware along with some server stuff right now actually, so a little bit of everything. At least for the rest of the year at least, I think after they choose a direction.

You're right, the modern arts brought us a lot of new careers to choose such as soung engineering and animation, that's something i'd like to study.

Don't get mad, get even...
