Please Help _ Ryzen 7 on Windows Server 2016 with Link Aggregation through ASUS ROG Router

Hello,

I haven't ever posted on Forums before, please excuse any faults I make.

I would like to run a home server that connects in an intranet the other devices in my home, as well as can be accessed over the internet from other countries since I travel with work. I would like to host my own Cloud Storage from this machine because I make videos on the laptop I travel with, but I would like to access this computer while abroad to manage files.

This server will also hopefully host new websites I plan to make, I have owned others before with Host Gator but am trying to become independent.

What I have :
-AMD Ryzen 7 1800X

-GIGABYTE Aorus GA-AX370 Gaming 5

-CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 64GB DDR4 RAM

-2x GALAX NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 980 TI HOF 6GB in SLI

-Way too many 1 or 2 TB Hard Drives from Western Digital as well as 2 Samsung Evo 512GB SSDs

-Windows 10
-watercooler/fans/DVD drive...etc

What I (think I) want/need :

-ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 Router (that supports Link Aggregation)
-Possibly some form of PCIe Dual Port Network Card? (since I can't tell if having an intel ethernet port AND a killer port on the motherboard can NIC team)
-Windows Server 2016

Could anyone please tell me if these are "okay" items to get and if there are better suggestions and/or if there is no way possible through these mechanics.
*Side-note* I need a new router anyways so I might as well go big.

Thank you kindly in advance for any help you may have,

Thor Moeller

First, what is your internet lines speed? If it is below 1 gbit you won't need link aggregation, waste of money and such.

Main System:

Anghammarad : Asrock Taichi x570, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @4900 MHz. 32 GB DDR4 3600, some NVME SSDs, Gainward Phoenix RTX 3070TI

System 2 "Igluna" AsRock Fatal1ty Z77 Pro, Core I5 3570k @4300, 16 GB Ram DDR3 2133, some SSD, and a 2 TB HDD each, Gainward Phantom 760GTX.

System 3 "Inskah" AsRock Fatal1ty Z77 Pro, Core I5 3570k @4300, 16 GB Ram DDR3 2133, some SSD, and a 2 TB HDD each, Gainward Phantom 760GTX.

On the Road: Acer Aspire 5 Model A515-51G-54FD, Intel Core i5 7200U, 8 GB DDR4 Ram, 120 GB SSD, 1 TB SSD, Intel CPU GFX and Nvidia MX 150, Full HD IPS display

Media System "Vio": Aorus Elite AX V2, Ryzen 7 5700X, 64 GB Ram DDR4 3200 Mushkin, 1 275 GB Crucial MX SSD, 1 tb Crucial MX500 SSD. IBM 5015 Megaraid, 4 Seagate Ironwolf 4TB HDD in raid 5, 4 WD RED 4 tb in another Raid 5, Gainward Phoenix GTX 1060

(Abit Fatal1ty FP9 IN SLI, C2Duo E8400, 6 GB Ram DDR2 800, far too less diskspace, Gainward Phantom 560 GTX broken need fixing)

Nostalgia: Amiga 1200, Tower Build, CPU/FPU/MMU 68EC020, 68030, 68882 @50 Mhz, 10 MByte ram (2 MB Chip, 8 MB Fast), Fast SCSI II, 2 CDRoms, 2 1 GB SCSI II IBM Harddrives, 512 MB Quantum Lightning HDD, self soldered Sync changer to attach VGA displays, WLAN

@Anghammarad I am not home now to check the speeds, I probably won't "need" aggregation but I would like to learn the steps of setting it up anyways for future knowledge, and since the ROG router does provide the ability - I thought I would try it regardless.

@TheCherryKing It was my gaming rig, I invested so much and have these parts, I don't want to buy components for a whole new system if these can be used. I ay also one day turn it physically back into a gaming PC simply switching out the Hard Drive running the OS - hence why I think about getting the ASUS ROG router.

I can understand the desire to play with link aggregation but not sure buying a $400 Asus router is the best starting point. You can get a $35 tplink switch that supports link aggregation.

@ltguy Yeah, I've seen the other routers and splitters around, but since my family have a number of devices, and I have now a Razer Blade Pro laptop which will be my on the road device (and I still extensively game) I think the dedicated gaming ethernet ports from the ASUS I could use for my laptop when I come home. Also, with the strength of the 8 antennas I'm working right now to upgrade many devices in the house to "Smart" devices. I'd like to have them all on a strong wireless network and run through processes on the Server I'm looking to make.
