Uh lol what?

The 1600 games just as well as a 1700, so getting a 1700 for gaming makes zero sense.

Obviously the 1700 isn't the "better one" in this case, since the 7700k is better for gaming.

i7 is useless,R5 is much better value,even if less performance in single threaded,and HA,$1500 Gaming PC,120 GB $50 SSD? wtf.Its $1500 not $15 or $150

Alright then, why don't you go try fitting a 7700k and 1080 ti in a $1500 budget without cheaping out on everything else and getting a 250gb decent ssd and 1tb hdd? Go ahead, I'm waiting. Maybe you shouldn't criticize others when you can't do better.

Yeah R5 is better "value," if you mean perf/$. But in this case the budget allows for a 7700k+1080 ti, so why not get that extra 10% performance?

Also, you seem to be contradicting yourself, first you recommend an R7 and now an R5.

R5 instead of i5, no storage? Budget and purpose of PC?

Ideally the 1600, but get the 1500 if you need to save (Either are better the the i5, non X can OC to match it so dont bother with them). Would also buy an SSD (Assuming you just have a HDD).

Value=/=performance. And the 7700 will outperform an overclocked 1600 in games. The 1700 is better value than the 7820X, but the 7820X destroys it in everything.

But 7600k isn't better for gaming, it has worse minimums than Ryzen 5 hence why I recommend Ryzen 5 over i5 for gaming. But when you look at the i7 side, i7 beats r7 and r5 in gaming, hence why I recommend i7.

Your logic makes literally zero sense, "People recommend R5 over i5 at $250 bracket but recommend i7 over r7 at $350 bracket for gaming, UH SOMETHING THEIR OPINION IS DIFFERENT BLAH."

Also, you got AMD wrong it's Advanced Micro Devices. Not American.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Value=/=performance. And the 7700 will outperform an overclocked 1600 in games. The 1700 is better value than the 7820X, but the 7820X destroys it in everything.

How does it destroy the 1700 (just remove the 1800X in this comparison,but still a 1700 is as good as a 1800X when overclocked)
Reasons I say it as not so good value

1.Around/Over Double the Price of a 1700

2.Motherboards=Prices high af

3.Unnecesaary release

Now,a 7740X is more than a Price of a 1700,which is basically less value than a 1700,Here's how

1.4 Cores 8 Threads < 8 Cores 16 Threads

2.16 < 24 PCIe lanes

3.Can use half of your motherboard > Can Use your entire motherboard

4.Basically a 7700K on X299 with a 100 MHz higher base clock

5.Expensive AF motherboards < Not very expensive motherboards

Even If,we take a 7700K,6700K,for gaming,then why do GAMERS (not professional content creators,etc) buy 59xx and 68xx or 69xx CPU's from InteL?

Bulls*it what ur talking about.

1.It is much better value,even if not so good for gaming,and if u want to get a 7700K,how is it a BAD value in front of it? Intel fanboy,compare it to a 6900K or 7820X

2.B250=No Overclocking B350=Overclocking.

3.7700 is useless,since a R5 is better value,again also with overclocking

1. Value is dependent on your scenario. When it comes to gaming, the R7 is worse value than the 7700k.

Sure the 1700 has better multi threaded performance/$ than the 7700k, but WHO CARES if op can't even use that performance!!!

2. B250 is cheaper than B350, what is your point?

3. Um mind providing a source for that?

Oh really,then build a PC With a 7820X and GTX 1080 TI,then compare it to a price of a R7 1700 and GTX 1808 TI,then tell me that,even if 7820X is better than a R7 1700,its Price-Performance

i didn't even mentioned i7 7820x? do you read comments?
