I need a GPU for a streaming PC.

KuJoe

So right now I've got a NVIDIA GT 710 paired with an AMD Ryzen 1700 in my streaming PC, I literally just bought the cheapest GPU I could find that supported Windows 10 and would fit in a low profile case. Last night while I was streaming, OBS kept having "overloaded" messages in the bottom left for a few seconds every few minutes. I checked the CPU usage and it was hovering around 60%, temps were around 66-67C after streaming for roughly two hours. I checked my GPU and it was at 99-100% with temps of around 61C. I'd like to keep my CPU preset to "Medium" since that's what I was using when I was doing a single PC setup so I don't want to reduce the quality of my stream. I'm thinking replacing the GPU will prevent the overloading so now I'm just not sure which route to go. I have a spare mid tower ATX case so a low profile card isn't required but would be a big plus. This PC is mostly dedicated to running some VMs, video encoding, and some video editing here and there. My main priorities are low power usage, low heat, and low noise. I might use the PC for streaming games to my Steam Link but performance isn't a huge concern. So what GPU should I get? I'm looking at the RX 550s, RX 460s, and GTX 1050s on Newegg for ~$100 but I'm willing to get a used GPU off eBay if it means saving $20 so what should I be looking for?

A second hand 960, 750 ti or 1050(ti)/RX 460 will do you well

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

OBS uses the gpu for things like rendering the canvas and other tasks so you need some cpu, Id probably get something like a gt 1030 or rx 550

defo gt1030 I own a few and the performance is right below a 750ti

So here are the best prices on eBay, Newegg, and PCPartPicker:

GT 1030 = $73
GTX 750 Ti = $67
GTX 1050 = $110
RX 550 = $89
RX 460 = $104

Should I just keep an eye out for a used card or is this the best pricing I can expect for these lower end cards?

Should be fine here though. You not playing games, your just doing some basic compositing on the gpu.

Way too expensive for my needs. Under $100 please.

What case do you have so I can have an idea of height limitations.
