So...Desks...in the UK..Help?

Go to solution Solved by Metal_Kitty,

Actually I have a perfect solution for this!

Believe it or not - for less than £80 too... plus it is cheap enough to build your PC into it and get another one if you mess up, and actually looks pretty awesome...

Let me post a link to it...
(Now where's Linus's Affiliate link - should add that to the end of the address too...)

It is also flatpacked and it gets my cats (Pixie) seal of approval!!!

Hi all,

Hoping somebody can assist here.

Long story short I have the Ikea Linnmon desk currently, but despite having a cable cage under the desk, its's still messy due to the limited options.

What I'm looking for is ideas from others who want/have cleaner desk setups, as well as opinions for the following:

  • Desks with back boards to hide the cables
  • Desks with popup sections for the odd ad-hoc power socket access and USB charging, but that cannot be seen unless in use

Thoughts?

That's not a bad shout... I'll check dimensions...I was hoping to find something with some built in popup charging solution or compartments... You know something weird ;) budget isn't a huge issue

Only other thing is I have a dual monitor arm to mount... Not sure this would handle that

actually it will quite happily - the strength of the desk for what it is is suprising...  the desk itself is very sturdy, and has happily held my weight when I was climbing on it to hang up a picture a week ago...

and I weigh at 9 stone.

This desk has the supporting boards centered on the underside of the desk rather than at the back, so not only will it hide cables very very well, but it makes it very stable. honestly though, it's cheap enough to try out and at the very least have a nice laptop study desk if you don't think it's right for your setup...

Easiest solution off the top of my head would be to screw your multiplug extender (assuming your using one) to underneath the desk and then use some velcro cable tidys and either screw/glue them to the underneath as well or just use gaffa tape. I myself on my old desk used velcro ties and industrial glue a friend got from his work (worked at rollsroyce building jet engines) and I miss it so much since now i have a glass desk (mrs wanted it to look better) but now you can see a mess of cables at the back she wishes she let me keep my old desk as it looked tidy as f*** :)
