Possibly The WORST SOUNDCARD Ever

So i purchased an Asus Strix DLX 7.1 Soundcard as my Asus X99 E WS was having compatibilty issues with my Soundblaster ZXR, and i couldnt have regret my decision more.

 

The problem with my ZXR was that most of the time it wouldnt detect in device manager upon boot, and after a month of testing and research learned that this was likely due to Asus intentionally causing some conflict between other manufacturers components to encourage people to buy their own soundcards.

 

So anyway i purchased an Asus Strix DLX 7.1 thinking it would pair well with my Asus X99EWS. How wrong was I. Upon installing it I realised I couldnt find any Suite software. The only thing I could see installed is this software called sonic radar II. However upon loading it the entire UI is blacked out and bugged?

 

I then did some searching online to find the software download page only to discover that Asus dont host the drivers online and the only way to install them is to plug in a soundcard.

Then i found out that only ASUS ROG mobos are compatible with the soundcard, meaning my X99EWS wont work with it. 

So all in all im a little pissed at Asus for selling this misleading product, but also screwing people over by limiting them to buying products from themselves with the hope that they will maybe be compatible.

The ZXR is another sound card...

Theres no way to sort it apparently. Guess I'm going to have to buy a new Soundcard again. Not many about with 7.1 surround sound though built in.

Got a pair of DT770's 250 ohm. Soundcards sound amazing vs onboard audio, beleive me.

Ok well,

1) "intentionally causing some conflict" sorry but that is a BS conspiracy theory, I don't know who the heck told you that. It's probably windows having issues because you didn't clean install when windows 10 came out or you cloned or did something else bad.

 

2) It does not only work on ROG motherboards, it works on any motherboard with a PCIe slot.

 

3) If you go to the "support" tab on the product page you can download the full software suite. That's literally the only place you should be downloading stuff from.

Thanks for posting the link to the driver page. Couldnt find it. Actually got the sonic studio software to work.

Ok new problem. Since installing Strix Sonic Studio, and changing some of the settings (e.q. Bass Boost, mic volume, etc), my microphone is no longer transmitting my voice. 

I have changed the source between line in and microphone and nothing. In TS the bubble appears indicating my mic detected but it will not light up to indicate my voice is being transmitted.

Ive tried everything in the Suite Software and nothing works.

Its just one bloody problem after another with this thing.

You bought a creative labs product and it wasn't working properly. Hmm I had similar issues with their products since 2001. Some things never change.
