Storage configuration

Hello there, as my new PC is slowly building up, I was wondering what kind of storage setup I should go for. I don't need that much storage space compared to most people, but I want the speed. Technically, since I removed the storage tray to allow room for a 360mm rad, available storage right now would be 3x M.2 SSD on the mobo with either 4x 2.5'' SSD or 2x HDD in the stealth tray under the mobo.

 

I was thinking about 3x 960 512GB in Raid 0 on the mobo with 4x 850 evo 500GB in raid 10 in the tray. 

 

Total storage = 1.5TB of ultra fast storage with 1TB of safe storage

What are you doing?

 

You don't need nvme boot, its not worth it, and you won't notice it.

 

Use sotfware raid, not mobo raid for the second array, and id use raid 5 or a parity raid, it can also be faster, depending on use.

No need to go NVME. You will never notice a difference over a good sata like the samsung pro. Literally, never.

Get some 850 EVOs or 850 PROs, whatever size you want.

Also, don't do raid.
