You can get an LGA 1155 motherboard on Amazon for $20. Finding pinout diagrams for the proprietary connectors is fairly easy, I did it.

You can find a ton of LGA 11xx boards 'new' for less than $53 on Amazon...seriously, Linus could have done tons of his own research.
