corsair vs550 vs cx500

Go to solution Solved by Zando_,

CX, as long as it's the 2017 version. VS series is terrible, at least according to the PSU god @STRMfrmXMN and all his minions.

I'm on a tight budget which one is good for ryzen 5 1600 and gtx 1060 6gb

Either will work. But in my experience the VS sucks a lot. Already had two failing in less than a year of use. CX is better at the moment, at it's 3rd year already.

If you're on a tight budget then get a 1500X instead and a decent PSU to power your hardware. A Corsair CX450/M should do fine.

|PSU Tier List /80 Plus Efficiency| PSU stuff if you need it.

Ohk so a 500 watt is enough for gtx 1060 6gb and ryzen 5 1600?

The Corsair CX500 is the better option. You could do better though if you have a R5 1600 and a GTX 1060.

With a "standard" setup with fans, SSD+HDD and no PCI-E expansions slot.. yeah, perfectly around 350W of full load. You could even OC on that and remain within specs, but it might get quite loud.
