I'd get the 1500X. 1080@144Hz monitor would be best regardless of CPU purchased.

Unless you go with a potato of a CPU a 1070 should be crushing 1080p 60fps

Get a regular 1400**, 1500x isn't any better because the 1500 can be OCed. What's the price difference between a 1600 and 1500X? If less than $30, get 2800-3000MHz RAM instead of 3200 and a 1600.

1550+ RX 570 would get 60FPS @1080p just fine. 

 

You are going overkill for what you want with a 1070.

You guys say 1070 it's overkill but all benchmarks that a see at least in max settings like gta... what dogs 2... ryzen 5 and i5 push 60fps with difficulties... It's the same as saying you only need 8gb ram...

GTAV looks like crap and benchmarks use the advanced settings which will give you back a bunch of performance once reduced. 

 

Watch_Dogs 2 is an outlier. Get the 1500X or 7600K since the 7400 is worthless.

I have a 6700 w/ a 1070 and it does great @4k and @1080p in GTA 5.  The game even sets it by default to 4k, but I play it at 1080p so I can read the damn Steam overlay.
