I have been trading crypto currencies for over 3 years now investing, selling and so on. But I want to get into real stock trading. I have read online about it but every place gives a different or weird response. I don't really want to hire a broker as I can do it myself if that's even possible I guess. Any info will help. I also don't plan to become the next warren buffet. I just want to learn things and use real money rather than websites that use fake money.

Just keeping this here as a Yeah, stay away from the high risk high reward stuff.  My theory is that high speed traders pretty much have them on lockdown so you can't actually be profitable on your own.  Bigger stocks move at a more reasonable pace and 1 penny doesn't end up being a significant % value.

 

My advice?  Never hang on to a losing stock.  I had weeks worth of profit on many small trades wiped out by single stocks that took a shit.  Ironically both AMD and Intel have fucked me at one point or another.

I'd recommend walking into your local Edward Jones or Scottrade. In order to buy from a company, you'd have to purchase their minimum shares which can vary, but it's usually thousands of dollars at a time.
