case reccomendations?

Go to solution Solved by Corsair Blake,

How about the CORSAIR 600C? Optical drive, ODD door, case door, reverse ATX.

i love the aesthetic of the Corsair 330r, but i don't think i'm quite ready to give up a windowed side panel.... can any of you recommend a good ATX case? (preferably with suppourt for a 240mm rad but that isn't essential).

it'd need plenty of gpu room too

that's it exactly, my zalman z11 is very 'loud' - both in styling and noise. i'm looking for a more mature case really. ideally, below £120 would be great.

the 330r appeals to me as it still has options for mounting optical drives, which i still use on a frequent bases. i like the idea of having a case fitted with sound dampening and the front door would be nice to hide the logos on the front of the optical drives.

The many times aforementioned Fractal Define C would be good. The NZXT S340 as well.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

You might want to look at the be quiet! silent base series. I think both the 600 and 800 can support a 240mm rad at least, but the 800 is a bit bigger and might be easier to work it. Both come in both window and non-window versions. http://www.bequiet.com/en/case/594

They've got dampening material on the front and back side, and a door that swings open to access the front bays, hiding them when not in use (just a word of warning, this door likes to swing open when you're moving the case around so to prevent damage I always tape mine shut when transporting it).

I have these cases' bigger brother the dark base pro 900 (which is a bit higher than your price range otherwise I'd recommend it in a heartbeat), and I LOVE it. I am incredibly happy with it. I do wish it had come with a PSU shroud, but you can find them on the mod market like I did (or just make your own).

Here's a picture of my current build in the dark base pro 900: YdMCQXx.jpg

(I am not done with the build, I still have to add the custom loop and I've added some RGB RAM since this was taken, but you get the idea)

Since you mentioned a door to hide the drive bays, absorbing material for noise, classier/minimalist looks, you should definitely check out the be quiet cases. They're not paying me to say this, I'm just a legit fan of be quiet! after getting that case. Plus they had amazing customer service and sent me a spare HDD panel when I asked them for one so I could try a mod out. I didn't end up needing it, but I was blown away at the customer service.
