Ubiquiti UniFi Security Gateway

Hi guys, wondering if its worth replacing my netgear R8000 which i dont use the wireless on since i upgraded to a ubiquiti AP ACPRO with a Ubiquiti UniFi Security Gateway to use as a router?

It would work great but you pay extra for the UniFi line over the Edgerouter line due to the added security stuff for businesses. I would say a edgerouter would be a better option unless you really want a router that does fast Firewall/VPN stuff

 

I use a EdgeRouter lite and it is awesome, a great router for the price.

Oh sweet thanks, is there any performance difference between unifi gateway and the edge router X and the lite?

I don't know much about the Unifi but the edgerouter X is great for most homes the lite is faster and is basically over kill for most homes. (unless you have a 500/500+ connection)

I love mine it works flawlessly and has a lot of nice features.
