Dota2 Steam card

After visiting two stores in town i found both out of Stem cards with the exception of Dota 2 Steam cards. I did a cursory Gogle search and could not find a concrete answer yes or no as to whether they would work for general Steam purchases. I took a chance buying two and am happy to say they both went right into the Steam wallet and I was able to purchase Playerunknown's Battleground. Installing now and hope its as good as it looks.

what do you mean dota 2 steam card? does it just have a dota 2 pic on it?

 

the steam cards i see just look like this in my store. maybe the dota 2 card is for dota2 in game money?? idk i dont play dota

okay so i googled it and fond a seller online of steam card with DOTA2 and a pic of a dota 2 player on it

 

it said this in the desc

so it should just be steam wallet money

Answer:

Yes. The Dota 2 picture is a little misleading but the funds from the card are transferred to your steam wallet, which means it can be used for anything on steam.
