well most games will potential have a scaling issue with that resolution but if you played with black bars pretty much anything 1050 and up would work great!

If I had to choose between my computer and girlfriend, well lets just say you can play more games when single.:)

Is it those LG ones? it would be a RX580 since you can get freesync on it, however those are out of stock until august thanks to the miners and AMD continue to ignore their existence to supply the market true demand.

nVidia side it would be either the 980ti or 1070 to get the most out of the monitor however the g4560 will bottleneck these GPUs

Honestly you got a bit too much high end panel for a bit too under-performing CPU... I suppose the only way is wait for that rx580/480 to become available again.

They will remain impossible to find until August because AMD keeps insisting only gamers buy their cards, while thousands of miners also do, result is that gamers are not getting any card at all and miners are inflating its price more and more. Awful market strategy in my opinion.

Not to mention that Vega keeps getting delayed and delayed, by the time AMD finally releases it we'll be on nVidia Volta already which will like always end up a better buy for the mid end and high end.

a GTX 1060 6gb wouldn't be bad... but you will not be able to to play at ultra every thing on 2560x1080p depending on the game, like the most intensive ones on graphics such as The Witcher 3 you'll need to decrease settings to high and such while using it you'd also lose free-sync.

Most games don't have scaling problems at that resolution anymore. About the only people who don't support it anymore is blizzard.
