And out of the three, I'd pick Asrock due to better VRM/board layout in general. ECS has ITX boards but for some reason no one likes them.

Asrock is only 3 phase, I think Gigabyte will probably use 4 phase, I'd say gigabyte is better

But they have godawful board layout. CPU power next to the I/O, 24 pin in a weird position..etc that'll make building it harder. Also, that Asrock 3 phase is actually doubled into a 6 phase.

It's actually not, check the buildzoid pro4 vrm analysis, they aren't using doublers on the board, their just shoving 6 vrms into a 3 phase ic, so it's really just a 3 phase that's more efficient and can deliver more power, the power isn't any cleaner.

Apparently I am, just checked and the Gigabyte b350 itx board has 6 vrms so I'm guessing it's just 3 phases without doublers, so it looks like, at least on the b350 boards, the vrms are about the same.

Eh. I'd still pick the Asrock for the sake of board layout, because more power delivery is quite alight even if it's not true

Read above post, turns out I'm wrong and Gigabyte board is actually probably also 3 phase (at least the b350 one, they haven't shown an x370 one afaik)

I've had bad luck with Gigabyte in the past.  Of course plenty of people have good experiences with them.  However, I think it's best to wait until the products are out before making a judgement on which is best.

I was just referring to vrms, not anything else :P. Plus I've already realized I was wrong and it looks like for the B350 board at least it's a similar vrm design to the asrock board.

Let's wait until the boards are finalized and released before assuming the boards are great or not.

where is buildzoid's pro4 vrm analysis. I occasionally see a couple videos of him on gamer's nexus channel. Do i have to go digging into their site for written content? Is there another channel he uses?

His main channel is Actually Hardcore Overclocking, he also has a guide with a brief summary of all the B350 boards.
