Help on building an egpu

pcie x1 isn't worth it 

 

the issue here is that we don't know how much memory is assigned to the PCIe ports, if there is a whitelist, etc, etc. you circumvent some of these with business laptops that support this, but with your computer it wouldn't likely have these 

i guess it will technically work, but it's tons of hassle for little gain.
