$4000+ build | need help scaleing back

Budget: $4000 - $5000 USD

Location: New York, USA

Aim: Be able to play games very competitively such as Overwatch, League of Legends, Metro Last Light, and Witcher 3 in max settings but also be able to meet my needs as a software developer with 16+ gb of ram needed.

Moniters: preferably 3 27inch 1440p isp >4 ms responce time but flexible

Peripherals:  Everything needed mouse, keyboard, speakers, and moniters.

Reason for upgrade: currently play games on highpowered laptop with many computers set up for programing needs.

The big issue is i would like to spend less on my build overall but do want this crazy powerful mechine. This is the build i am currently considering:

https://pcpartpicker.com/user/TotalyNotMe/saved/MnMkLk

There are 3 parts to the build i am not flexible on, mouse, keyboard, and case. Anything else can be changed.  I know the monitors probably have to go but i want to see what you guys think.

Thanks so much!

i think this build is epic yet really overkill. ryzen would work much better with samsung bdie controllers. try out evga 650 G3 power supply. why not go with a high end 34inch ultra widescreen monitor

Could go with R7-1700 or 1700X save a few $100.  Could also go with a X370 Prime Pro Motherboard save about $150 more dollars.

Having all monitors with that high of a refresh is kind of a waste imo, just get one to satisfy the card because even two 1080 tis will never go above 120 fps with that setup. If you go with two cheaper monitors you could actually afford two 1080 tis too.

Ryzen 1700 would also be better for price

IF you have 4-5K to blow on a PC I have a much better suggestion for you. How about you buy a 1.5K PC then SAVE the rest of the money you spend in an investment. You don't NEED a 4-5K PC, you are literally just throwing your money away as you cross the 2K mark. Take your extra cash and use it for something that WON'T depreciate over time like your mortgage, a mutual fund, your IRA or any number of different things.

I agree, but I say over the 3K mark if you need monitor, keyboard, etc. Otherwise $2200  for me.

SKHynix SL308. Its SATA, but NVME isn't worth it right now. Too expensive. Plus you can get 1TB for same price.

Also get rid of the RAM, get DDR4-3000 or 3200

you could still be looking for a extremely fast pc with 1.5$ but 4-5k is really abit too much for a pc unless u doing some crazy shit on it, like literally.

I'm sick and tired of people building PCs that are several thousand dollars just because they have the money. We are not multi-millionares people, we do not have money to throw away. MY parents are still using core 2 quad PCs built 10 years ago and you know why? Because I maintain them. I have gradually upgraded them over the years and that is why they have lasted so long. Yes, they can easily afford a new PC, but the current one works perfectly fine, so why change?

I has Athlon XP I still use day to day. And my laptop is Core 2 Duo.

I Think it is crazy also to spend that kind of money especially if you are going water cooling and not having a custom loop.  The three monitors are eating up almost half of your budget.  I also think with Intel's new Processors that they have launched building a systems now is kind of crazy.  Gaming wise Intel is still the King, as much as I hate to admit it.

Good. I'm glad to see you hanging onto older systems that still work. Hopefully you are taking the money you are saving and reinvesting that in Assets, not more "stuff" that is supposed to make up happier. One thing that I have learned form going to scrapyards and aquiring so many things is that more "stuff" really doesn't make us happier. Forming personal human connections, doing something you have never done before and reinvesting for the future will make you happier. This is why I now have a fully utilitarian view of purchasing things. I drive a junker car, I am considering moving out soon to a trailor park, and I am going to hold onto my x99 system until the day it dies. I have about 15 thousand in the bank and investments and I never spend a penny of it. Not because I can't afford to but because I know more "stuff" is not what will make me happy.

I'm investing it into expensive as hell transit passes from Metro Van that cost $53 a month.

EDIT: I'm not age of majority yet, because then it would cost about $250 a month.
