Upgrading from a GTX 780, advice needed

Perhaps

Hi everyone. Will upgrade from a 780 to perhaps a 1080 or 1080 ti. Using this in 3D modelling programmes, rendering and the usual adobe suite. I was wondering how much faster a 1080 would be in these tasks vs a 1080 ti. im not using this in gaming at all. it seems that the 1080 has only 200 more cuda core then the 780 and has lower memory bandwidth, would this perform worse in some aspects? Im kind of confused . Hopefully you guys can help!

you should see a good boost, what cpu?

Its a Xeon e5 1650 v2. Will be either getting a new rig whenever the skylake xeons come out, but debating upgrading that to e5 2697 v2

Get the 1080 Ti, there is a pretty good boost, as mentioned by @nerdslayer1

Guess its the Ti. Other thing is which brand? Asus or evga. Theres not too much difference in noise and temps, but just was curious which has better customer support? The 780 i have is a strix.
