Hey guys, I currently go to boarding school and want to purchase a gaming laptop or pc that I can take back and forth with me in holidays (on a plane). I go to school in the UK and I have a budget of around 1700GBP. Does anyone have any suggestions? Currently looking at Asus ROG GL702VS laptop.. Thoughts?

I don't want to be that guy, but this video doesn't apply for everyone, a desktop in a plane IS A PAIN! I tried to do it and thank god I didn't because it would have failed spectacularity.

a desktop on a plane tho...

yeah just turn on airplane mode on a desktop and you are good to go/s

honestly I don't think buying a laptop just for the purpose of being entertained on a plane is worth it. i have travelled on a plane many times, I either sleep, wathc movies that has on the plane (they are new releases and some are not that bad). if i want to game I have a phone with me, yeah not the best experience but the limited room/space, airplane sickness and all that sort of crap doesn't feel like gaming much. personally that's what i think.

no, as in, dude's going to boarding school, and he's gonna need to take it back and forth every time he goes to school and back. please tell me i dont need to explain why you really dont wanna do that with a desktop.

can you use a mouse on a laptop while on a plane?i have a 15.6" laptop and it just fits the tray table. I would have to use a controller instead.

he could make it lightweight for easiness. plus he could get 2 cheap monitor with that budget and leave one at school and onr at homenfor example to save space during travelling

I should probably add that I won't need to take it from my dorm to class because I already have a macbook for that

I wasn't talking about using it, just putting on the plane is a pain on its own.

i would NOT trust any carrier to handle my PC. and i'm sure you can imagine they're gonna be SUPER not happy to find a PC full of all kinds of fancy wires, and sharp bits of metal in your carry-on.
