Black SSHD?

Jahoppski

Hello!

I'm looking to get a SSHD, specifically this one. However I'm wondering if there's a black alternative/variant of SSHD, so that it suits my setup (black and red), and still has around the same performance.

Thanks for any replies!

Just Plastidip an SSD instead of buying something specific.

I would, but I'm more so focused on purchasing specifically for storage, and yet an SSHD is still very good performance wise with a lot of storage with it.

Simply put, no. You'd be better off just buying some black vinyl and covering it with that. HDDs (or SSHDs) aren't exactly made for their looks. The majority of people never see them once they're installed so manufacturers don't waste time making them look nice.

Okay, that makes sense, thanks!

Just buy a regular HDD. The performance benefit of the SSHD comes from frequent use of files.

It's good performance for a very small amount of data. SSHDs only really work well if you have a program or set of data that you access very frequently, or if you're constantly making small writes to the drive. Other than that, you're paying more for no extra performance. If you're buying it for mass storage, I would save the money and just go for an HDD. SSHDs aren't worth it except for in specific situations.

You should either get a regular HDD, or spend a little more (or buy a smaller) SSD.

Don't get an SSHD.
