i7 vs i5

Go to solution Solved by cfrozer,

Ok thanks guys!

Want your guys take for a i7 vs i5 for streaming. Building a separate streaming/recording PC. I plan to stream at 720p at 30 and record at 1080p 60fps. I have a 760 GPU to use when I have a LAN party.

i would like to save a few bucks but can get a i7 if needed.

Already have another z270 board.

i7-7700k @4.8GHz

Asus Maxmius IX hero

EVGA GTX 1080Ti FTW 3

850w EVGA PSU

32GB corsair LPX ddr4 ram

You can do all that with one PC.

Just upgrade the computer you already have instead of wasting money unnecessarily.

So?

You can still stream, play, and record with a single PC while getting 144+ fps...

Unless you're doing it as a job and making thousands of dollars a month it is a pretty big waste to make a dual PC setup.

Even most professional streamers don't even use two PCs, because it's a lot easier and simpler with one.

Don't use optane...

Get a regular SSD.

Optane is only good if you have a really old PC that still uses only a hard drive.

Yeah, better to wait for optane to be released as full real drives, not this tiny cache for accelerating hard drives.
