In the reality the RX 480 wins now because improvements by the road

"Make it future proof for some years at least, don't buy "only slightly better" stuff that gets outdated 1 year, that's throwing money away" @pipoawas

 

-Frequencies DON'T represent everything and in many cases that is true (referring to Individual CPU Clocks).

If you were going to game at 60+ FPS on triple 1080p monitors, you'd need at least a 1080 (well, you could get away with an RX 580 if you turned some settings down).

I wanted to get upgrade GTX 1070 and is it enough for three monitors?

im happy to game on medium and 40fps so would either be good for that?

Rx570 is about as powerful as the rx480, so maybe consider that. I don't know, it depends on prices in your area. For triple 1080p at 60+ fps you might want to consider a more powerful card depending on your target games and desired graphics fidelity.

the game i play most is gta 5 plus i want to somewhat future proof it more than that so it could go for at least a few years also the strix 480 has more leds and has three fans and looks a lot nicer in my opinion

Yes, three fans on GTX 1070 works so the GPU stands at around  63°C
