Is the Corsair K50 good for Programming?

Trippyninja

It has a ridiculous amount of macros, so if you use those a lot then it sure is.

Well, just as every other rubber dome keyboard, mushy.

It's a membrane keyboard, so you will be typing a tad slower than mechanical switches would allow you too.

It's all up to what you prefer, IMO it's not worth paying $100 for a keyboard if it's a membrane one just because it has backlit keys and a few macros... For that same price you could get a very good mechanical keyboard with blue/brown/black switches, which are very comfortable for excessive amounts of typing such as coding.

Yeah, i understand what you mean. I accidentally ordered the K50 instead of the K65 on Amazon and debating whether to refuse the delivery :P

If it's unopened, you should return it for amazon credit.

Unrelated; we finally got amazon in Australia :)

Same as store credit. You dont get a full refund, but you can exchange for something of the same price.

I organised it when calling customer service after 2 different 7850s had coil whine / black screen of death issue.

For being a membrane keyboard it types well, but its certainly not as good as a decent mechanical keyboard for a similar price. I only purchased the K50 because I was going to get a great deal on it. If you can, I would return it for a refund and then pick up the K65 like you wanted.
